Recognizing a Veterinary Emergency
Pets are experts at hiding illness and injuries, so recognizing an emergency situation is of paramount importance. If your pet exhibits any of the following, bring them to us immediately, or contact one of our referral hospitals for after-hours care:
- Bleeding, wounds, or lacerations
- Blunt-force trauma
- Excessive vomiting or diarrhea
- Blood in vomit, stool, or urine
- Seizures
- Signs of acute pain
- Eye injury
- Difficulty breathing
- Suspected toxin ingestion (call the Pet Poison Helpline at 855-764-7661 for advice and guidance)
